Who This Is For

What We Help With

This page is for you if you’re a homeowner, renter, landlord, or business owner in Hamilton County whose home or property was damaged by the flooding, and you still have needs after insurance and other assistance. We help most with:

  • Homes and rentals that are unsafe, unsanitary, insecure, or non-functional
  • Households that are uninsured or underinsured
  • Situations where FEMA, SBA, and insurance don’t cover the full cost of recovery

Note: the LTRG works with Individual Assistance (homes, families, and personal property) — not Public Assistance (roads, bridges, public buildings). If your concern is public infrastructure, contact the Hamilton County EMA directly.

Once you’re connected with a disaster case manager, we work through your unmet needs — the gap left after every other resource has been used. Depending on what’s available, that can include:

  • Help understanding and applying for insurance, FEMA, and SBA assistance
  • A personalized recovery plan built with your case manager
  • Construction, repair, and rebuild assistance
  • Donated furniture, appliances, and household goods
  • Emotional and spiritual care for you and your family
  • Connections to other local and state resources

How Assistance Is Sequenced

Recovery resources are used in this order, so no one resource is duplicated or skipped:

  1. Voluntary agencies & local donations (immediate needs — food, clothing, shelter)
  2. Your insurance (homeowners, renters, flood, sewer backup — contact your agent first)
  3. Immediate Needs Assistance (for urgent expenses insurance doesn’t cover)
  4. FEMA Individual & Households Program
  5. U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loans
  6. FEMA Other Needs Assistance
  7. Hamilton County LTRG — for disaster-related unmet needs nothing else covers

What To Expect

  1. Reach out — using the contact info below or the intake form.
  2. Meet your case manager — they’ll stay with you from first contact until your case is closed.
  3. Build your plan — together, including what’s already been resourced and what’s still needed.
  4. Get connected — to construction help, donated goods, funding, and emotional support as your case is presented to our Unmet Needs Table.
  5. Case closes — once you’re safely back home, relocated, or all available resources have been used.
